Al-Hasawi planning automatic promotion with Nottingham Forest

Nottingham Forest chairman Fawaz Al-Hasawi wants to play in the Premier League next season.

The Kuwaiti businessman has been in charge at the City Ground for the last year-and-a-half and has seen the side move up to fifth place on the Championship table.

An unbeaten run of 13 matches has Billy Davies' Forest just six points off second-placed Burnley and Al-Hasawi is hoping to push for a top-two finish in order to avoid the playoffs.

"I would like to go up automatically. I don't want the pressure with the play-offs to be honest," he told Sky Sports.

"There is still a big, big chance for us to be promoted directly. We have 16 games and I think if we won 10 or 11 we will go up. Everybody can beat everybody. Whoever reaches 82 or 83 points, they will get direct promotion."

The ambitious Al-Hasawi added: "This is our plan, from the beginning. If we go to the Premier League things will be changed.

"This season we have changed all the boxes but we are trying to move slowly. First of all my aim is to get promotion. Then we will fix the stadium, bring some extra players because the Premier League is a different level.

"That's why I don't want to talk about it now, or be rushed. Maybe I will leave this for the manager next season to decide."
