Doha-based Al-Arabi are launching a bid for Chelsea striker Nicolas Anelka.
The People says Anelka has been offered a mind-boggling £8.4million-a-year contract to finish his career in the Middle East.
Anelka has one year left to run on his Stamford Bridge deal, having signed an extension last summer, but now faces competition from five other strikers for a place in Andre Villas-Boas' starting line-up.
Record signing Fernando Torres, Didier Drogba, Daniel Sturridge, Romelu Lukaku and Salomon Kalou are all battling Anelka to be in the Chelsea team and the mega-rich Arab outfit hope that the mouth-watering sums on offer will be enough to convince the former Real Madrid and Arsenal striker into a move.
