Ajax will not turn to under-pressure Tottenham boss Martin Jol to replace Henk ten Cate, whose move to Chelsea has angered the Amsterdam club.
Any hopes Jol may have had of making a dignified exit out of Spurs by joining Ajax have been thwarted by the Dutch giants looking elsewhere for ten Cate's successor.
Current Ajax boss ten Cate is expected to finalise his move to Chelsea later this week.
According to the Daily Mirror, 'Jol put out feelers for the Ajax job' but the club have decided to appoint youth team boss Adrie Koster in a holding capacity before Marco van Basten becomes available next summer.
"We will find a solution for the next few months because our first choices are working at clubs or for a national team at the moment," said Ajax's technical director Martin van Geel.
