Ajax midfielder/left-back Vurnon Anita has not asked to be placed on the transfer list says his agent.
Reports suggest the 23-year old, who has emerged as a strong target for Newcastle United, directly asked Ajax director of football Marc Overmars if he could be transferred to the Magpies but his agent Harry Lulofs has revealed nothing of the sort has occurred.
He did say, however, that he will sit down with Ajax boss Frank de Boer and Overmars in a bid to resolve the situation.
"We have spoken with Frank de Boer and want to have a meeting with Overmars, as he has control over it," Lulofs told Ajax Life.
"But there was no meeting yesterday. Hopefully it is just a matter of weeks."
