Dutch giants Ajax Amsterdam will take on Italian powerhouse AC Milan in a friendly in Beijing.

The match will be played at the Workers Stadium on May 25 as part of the Winoly Cup International Football Tournament.

Ajax marketing manager, former Manchester United keeper Edwin van der Sar, said it was a great opportunity for the 31-time Eredivisie champions to expand their brand in China.

"It's fantastic for our name and our brand that we go to China,” said van der Sar.

"It's a very large country with enormous potential. Therefore we are pleased that we are invited to play this game.

"We will travel with as strong a squad as possible to Beijing."

Ajax currently sit four points above PSV Eindhoven at the top of the Dutch league table whilst Milan are third on the Italian Serie A table but 18 points in arrears of champions-elect Juventus.
