Ajax insist they haven't any Premiership offers for defender Thomas Vermaelen.

Both Arsenal and Aston Villa have been linked with the Belgian international in recent weeks, but Ajax's technical director Danny Blind revealed they have not heard anything from either club.

"There has been no contact between clubs," he told Sportweek. "As long as that is the case we don't have to think about what we want to do."

Blind was also unwilling to discuss speculation about who will coach Ajax next season.
