Ajax defender Jan Vertonghen has welcomed interest from Tottenham.

The Belgian starred in his side's 2-1 Europa League win over Manchester United last week and has now expressed a desire to play in the Premier League.

Harry Redknapp was in the crowd that night at Old Trafford and Vertonghen admits he would be delighted to play for the Spurs boss.

The 24-year-old defender said: "To play for a team in the Premier League would be amazing and that's what I'm going for.

"I think Tottenham are an amazing club and you can see how well they're doing this season.

"They are in the top three in England and that's where I want to play."
