Ajax defender Jan Vertonghen says joining Tottenham is just one of many options open to him.

Vertonghen is ready to leave Ajax in the summer.

He said: "I have a choice. There's something happening with Tottenham, but there are other clubs interested,"

"For me, it is important to get regular playing time. I also need a stable club."

He has also been linked with Barcelona, but admits playing in the Premier League appeals to him more.

"In England, there is a growing realisation that you can go far with good football. Arsenal started it and now you also see clubs like Newcastle United, Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur playing good football," he added.
