Ajax defender Jan Vertonghen is being linked with Real Madrid.

Sport says the 22 year-old Belgium international is under consideration by Real as they seek a replacement for Pepe after his season-ending injury.

A left-sided defender, Vertonghen can play at fullback, centre-half and in defensive midfield.

Ajax rate the youngster at £8 million.
