But the Daily Star says Villa will struggle to persuade their No.1 target Jol to leave Ajax.
The former Spurs boss is already unhappy with the Amsterdam club as they look to sell off top stars like Gregory van der Wiel and Luis Suarez.
But the 54-year-old Dutchman is unwilling to abandon his post in Holland for a Premier League club without significant financial backing.
