Ajax coach Frank de Boer is confident Vurnon Anita will prove a shrewd signing by Newcastle United.

De Boer says Anita can handle playing anywhere he is needed.

He told the Evening Chronicle: "We know with Vurnon that whatever job you ask him to do he will give you every ounce of sweat he's got.

"Newcastle have a great player on their hands."
