Ajax chief Edwin van der Sar is delighted to be meeting former club Manchester United in the Europa League final.

The ex-goalkeeper won the Champions League with Ajax in 1995 and then again with United 13 years later.

And he admits he couldn't have asked for a better final.

"It is against the club where I played my last game," he said. "Both clubs playing against each other is special."

Asked about facing United star Daley Blind, who left Ajax for Old Trafford in 2014, Van der Sar said: "It will be nice to see Daley again.

"Ajax will still be the club where his heart lies I guess."
