Ajax chief Overmars battling to keep Man Utd, Man City target Eriksen

Ajax chief Marc Overmars admits they're desperate not to lose Christian Eriksen.

The Dane is being linked with Manchester United and Manchester City.

Overmars claimed the club had not received any offers for Eriksen but hoped, in time, he would play for one of the continent's big guns.

"Right now there is nothing concrete," he told the Manchester Evening News.

"No clubs have contacted me with an offer yet. For Christian it is important to choose the right club and I believe that Ajax and Christian together can take the right step for him.

"I would really like to see Christian play for a major European club to see how he will go.

"He could play for all the major clubs, it would not be a problem for him.

"You should not be worried that he would not be able to cope with clubs like Barcelona and Real Madrid and other big clubs.

"It's just important to choose the right one."
