Claims that LA Galaxy star David Beckham was detained at Los Angeles airport have been rubbished. Reports that the England ace was detained for three hours and unhappy with the delays were dismissed by representatives last night.

A spokesman for Beckham told tribalfootball.com: "The story is complete rubbish. Counter to what has appeared on a few websites, David wasn't stopped by LA Customs, and would have no issues even if he was.

"He was also reported to have been travelling with nine bags, he was actually travelling with two."

Indeed, the reports came as a surprise to Beckham fans as the former Manchester United star isn't known as a 'diva'.
