Air Asia founder Fernandes confirms West Ham offer

The founder of budget airline Air Asia and the current boss of Formula One outfit Team Lotus, Tony Fernandes, says he has put in an offer to purchase West Ham United.

The Malaysian entrepreneur was previously linked with a bid for the Hammers before David Gold and David Sullivan took over but has confirmed that he has again come in for the club despite their relegation to the Championship.

Fernandes tycoon posted on his Twitter page: "For all you west ham fans an offer has gone to the present owners of west ham. Let's see if they accept."

Fernandes has also had some interest in recently promoted team Norwich City but it seems Upton Park is the way he wants to go.
