West Brom defender Ahmed Hegazi was delighted with a matchwinning debut in victory over Bournemouth.
Hegazi, who joined the Baggies on loan from Cairo club Al Ahly, nodded the only goal of the game after 31 minutes following a free-kick from Chris Brunt.
“It is a very good win and a fantastic feeling," he said.
“To start well was very important for us."
Hegazi also highlighted the importance of shutting out the Cherries in the opening game.
"The clean sheet is the first thing you think about as a defender.
"It's very important to the team."
And getting those first three Premier League points of the season was crucial to the 26-year-old.
"The first game is always very important for the team and for the start of the season.
"We can take enormous confidence from this."
