Agustien to make most of new Swansea deal

Swansea midfielder Kemy Agustien wants to repay the faith shown in him after being awarded a new contract by pushing for a first team place next season. Injuries have prevented the 25 year old Dutchman from making an impact in the Swans' squad this year and he had a similarly frustrating 2010/11 campaign.

He said: "I'm still in rehab so I will continue with that for a few more weeks - I want to be fit for next season so that's the most important thing.

"I want to hit next season feeling fresh. Hopefully I will get the contract signed in the next couple of days.

"I'm really glad to stay - it feels great to be part of Swansea City right now.

"This season has been very different from the one before. I started fit which made a huge difference - I really worked hard last summer.

"I got rewards for that. I worked hard every day, started games and felt like I deserved my place in the team. I have had to deal with a couple of injuries, but I have felt part of the team.

"The manager felt the same and it's great to agree a new contract.

"The Premier League is the stage I want to play on. I've worked hard to make that dream come true and now that I am there I want to stay here.

"Hopefully I can stay here with Swansea City for a long while."
