The agent of Manolo Gabbiadini has explained the reasons for his move to Southampton.

The striker has been outstanding since his January move from Napoli.

Silvio Pagliari told Radio Blu: "When I realised president (Aurelio) De Laurentiis, having seen him before Christmas, that Napoli would never send Manolo to a direct competitor, I immediately looked to the English and the German market.

"We were ready for an international experience and we made the right choice."
