Agent urges Bolton to deal in Jaaskelainen

The agent of Jussi Jaaskelainen has urged Bolton Wanderers to tie the Finn to a new contract.

The Finnish stopper has been one of the most consistent 'keepers in the Premier League in recent seasons but will be out of contract at the Reebok Stadium next summer.

Jaaskelainen, 32, turned down a new contract offer at the end of last season but then decided to stay with the club.

And agent Peter Harrison is frustrated that Bolton now appear to be dragging their feet, especially as they have secured the futures of other top players.

"Bolton have tied up Nicolas Anelka," Harrison said in the Manchester Evening News. "But Jussi has been there 10 years and talks have stalled."

Jaaskelainen, who is currently away on international duty with Finland, was linked with Sunderland, Aston Villa and Tottenham over the summer.
