Maicon's agent Roberto Calenda says the defender would like to remain at Manchester City next season. The 31 year old Brazilian started seven games for City last term and Calenda says that he would like to make an impression at the Etihad Stadium.
Speaking to Radio Sportiva, Calenda said: "He has had an unfortunate season, it can happen.
"Now he wants to prove his worth in a Manchester City jersey and achieve the World Cup's call with Brazil."
He added: "Interest from Roma? Italian football is going through a bad time economically so it is difficult to take players with this kind of salary."
