The agent of Manchester United captain Nemanja Vidic has rubbished claims he could be out for 12 months.

Vidic suffered a serious knee injury in defeat to FC Basel last week and there's been speculation he could miss almost the entire of 2012.

But Silvana Martina told TMW: "He's now comfortable, his soul in peace and he's waiting to recover.

"Of course there's been talk of 12 months. Then the withdrawal and retirement ... Do not talk nonsense! He'll be back in 5-6 months at most, it is an accident, from which he'll heal.

"Next season he'll return better and stronger."
