AS Roma are chasing Villarreal defender Mateo Musacchio.

Musacchio is available after Villarreal's relegation last week.

"Musacchio is wanted by Roma directors, they have been tracking him for some time and this is why we'll speak to them soon," agent Marcelo Lombilla told Tele Radio Stereo.

"Having said that, we have to understand what intentions the President has, as now the club has to be redeveloped after the unexpected relegation.

"Musacchio had important offers from many European clubs. He is popular because he is a modern defender."
