Agent says Man City target Obiang still sees Sampdoria as stepping stone

The agent of Sampdoria midfielder Pedro Obiang insists a move to England could still be on this summer.

The 20 year-old is a top target for Manchester City, though penned a new deal to 2017 with Samp only last week.

His agent Jose Miguel Gonzalez told TMW: "Our idea is to be able to close a transfer in the summer or at the end of next season, there is no hurry because Pedro is happy in Genoa.

"In Serie A and the Premier League there are so many great clubs, while in Spain there are only Real Madrid and Barcelona, where it would be difficult to find a place in the first team.

"Our intention is clear, Obiang will only leave Sampdoria for a big club if we can be sure he'll play with continuity."
