The agent of Alberto Aquilani says the Liverpool midfielder could still stay with AC Milan.
Aquilani's father declared earlier this month that he expected his son to return to Anfield this summer.
But Franco Zavaglia told MilanNews.it: "There's been discussions, but this is not the last word. We'll talk with the leadership of Milan and see if there is a solution.
"He is optimistic and would like to stay in Milan. Now let's work on it and see what we manage to do .
"The alternative? I'll start by saying that with Liverpool he still has two years on his contract, then we must see what he thinks about the English club. Since Damien Comolli left, and without a replacement, there is nobody who can take a decision to do so."
