Liverpool face a battle convincing Kevin Strootman to leave PSV Eindhoven.

The Holland international is a target for Reds chief Damien Comolli, who has made personal checks on him this season. Manchester City are also keen.

However, agent Cheil Dekker says: "There is no specific club which has expressed interest, but should that happen, we will not respond.

"Kevin must finish the season at PSV. He's only played at this level for six months and it would be very opportunistic to already take the next step."
