The agent of Napoli captain Paolo Cannavaro says agreement over a new contract is close.

Cannavaro had been at odds with Napoli President Aurelio De Laurentiis, who told him to go and join his brother Fabio in Dubai.

However, things have settled down and both parties are in talks.

Fedele said told Marte Sport: "Paolo's renewal is close. The last meeting with Napoli gave us lots of reasons to hope for the good.

"He is a good footballer who is doing well in his city. His objective is that of finishing his career at Napoli.

"He has the confidence of his Coach and the club."
