Agent Roggi impressed by AC Milan buying spree

Agent Moreno Roggi believes AC Milan have turned themselves into title contenders with their late buying spree.

Roggi has complained, however, with the amount of cash being spent on foreign-based talent.

"It is a fantasy market but unfortunately the big money has not gone to Italian clubs," explained the ex-Viola centre-back, who was forced to retire from the game in 1979 aged just 25 and is currently the agent of several top players, such as Massimo Ambrosini.

"Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Robinho are two super purchases for Milan, their squad has only been strengthened. Genoa's market activity has also been excellent, they are the club with perhaps the most assets during the window."

Roggi, who also works in co-operation with another ex-Viola player Stefano Borgonovo [pictured] in charitable work relating to the latter's illness - amyotrophic lateral sclerosis - thinks Milan's signings make them Inter's biggest challenge.

"Offensively they are one of the best squads in Europe and in Max Allegri they have an optimal trainer who will know how to manage the squad to its best.

"For the January window it is perhaps necessary to make one or two purchases in defense, but all of it depends on the condition of Alessandro Nesta."
