The agent of David Trezeguet admits the River Plate striker wants to return to Italy.

The former Juventus forward has been linked with Palermo.

Antonio Caliendo said: "Trezeguet? There's still much to discuss. With his goals he led the team back to the top division. He would also like to return to Europe but the fans have petitioned not to sell him, he is the idol of River.

"During the week he has meetings with the leadership and will let me know. There are two requests from Italy for him, we'll see."
