The agent of Catania defender Pablo Alvarez has confirmed the interest of West Ham United.

The 29 year-old Argentine is entering the final year of his contract with Catania and has seen an offer from the Hammers rejected by his Sicilian club in recent days.

Mariano Juan Oller told SiciliaToday.net : "Catania recently rejected an offer by West Ham. Nevertheless the player has not received an offer of adjustment for the renewal of his contract.

"With no news of a renewal, things are becoming worrisome for us."
