Agent reveals Trabzonspor offer for Man City's Mpenza

Manchester City striker Emile Mpenza could be set for a move away from Eastlands after his representative claimed an offer had been made for the Belgium international.

Rachid Tajmout said that Turkish side Trabzonspor had approached the 29-year-old about a possible move to the Turkish Superleague on a two-and-a-half year deal.

Belgian newspaper Gazet van Antwerpen have reported the former Hamburg and Schalke hit-man is on his way to Turkey to finalise a deal which would see him commit until the summer of 2010.

"Trabzonspor were the only club which made an offer," Tajmout told the Belgian publication. "And the Turkish competition is still stronger than the Belgian."

Russian club Rubin Kazan were also believed to be in the hunt for Mpenza, but Tajmout would only confirm the interest of Trabzonspor whom he says a financial agreement has been reached with, but on which he is still awaiting confirmation.
