The agent of Fluminense striker Maicon has confirmed the interest of Palermo.

The Rosanero and Cagliari have been linked with the youngster.

Erayabakan Aytekin, Maicon's agent, said: "Palermo is actually interested in Maicon, which in turn he would appreciate as a destination. The current value of his transfer is £3 million, personally I have not had the opportunity to talk (president) Maurizio Zamparini or by any representative of the Rosanero, but I know for a fact that Fluminense and Palermo are in contact, and have undertaken negotiations.

"If the parties reach an agreement, a transfer of the player for the next transfer market, would be anything but negative."
