Agent reveals Man Utd, Bayern Munich were keen on Udinese keeper Handanovic

The agent of Udinese goalkeeper Samir Handanovic has revealed the interest of Manchester United.

Handanovic remained with the Italian club for 2011-12, but only after United signed Atletico Madrid's David De Gea and Manuel Neuer joined Bayern Munich from Schalke.

"Handanovic was on the wish-lists of two great clubs," Federico Pastorello told Gr Parlamento on Monday.

"Bayern Munich and Manchester United were keen, but they then decided to make different choices.

"Although these two doors have now closed, I'm sure that Samir will have some other opportunities in the future."
