Argentine agent Jose Alberti admits Manchester City and Tottenham have been long-term suitors for Lazio star Mauro Zarate.

City boss Roberto Mancini admitted his admiration for Zarate over the weekend.

And Alberti told TMW: "Last year, I'm certain many teams like Manchester City and Tottenham wanted him. His value was about 30-40 million euros, but (Lazio president) Claudio Lotito made him unsellable."
