Lazio are in the boxseat to land Sao Paulo midfielder Hernanes.

The talented playmaker has attracted interest from Barcelona and Inter Milan in the past.

However, his agent, Augustino Penha, has confirmed to calciomercato.com that Lazio are in contact.

"For now there is nothing new," says Penha. "Lazio must find an agreement with Sao Paulo. If this agreement is found, Hernanes is ready to pack and fly to Italy.

"Would he like to go to Lazio? Of course he would like to!"
