Hull City almost lost new loan signing Gaston Ramirez to Sevilla, it has been revealed.
The Southampton winger joined Hull on-loan during last Monday's deadline day - but only after talks with Sevilla.
Ramirez's agent, Pablo Betancourt, explained to ABC de Seville: "Gaston came to say 'yes' to (Sevilla football director) Monchi. That's the truth.
"19 days ago he called me to ask about taking him to Sevilla. An easy fix. The boy saw it as phenomenal.
"I went to talk to Southampton and they told me that the player could not move.
"(But) the next week I called again and Monchi told me everything was agreed with Southampton.
"I went to talk to the player, but he decided against it. No-one had spoken to him about the situation (from either club)."
