AC Milan have made a shock swoop for Gremio fullback Felipe Mattioni.

After hinting at a Rossoneri move last week, Mattioni's agent, Mino Raiola, confirmed an agreement last night.

Raiola declared: "He is already in Italy and tomorrow will have a medical. He's signed a contract for four and a half years, he has a European passport and can play immediately."

Milan will cough up £5 million to Gremio for Mattioni, 20, who is a naturally left-sided fullback.
