The agent of Porto midfielder Steven Defour has confirmed contact with Aston Villa.
Paul Stefani has revealed talks have been opened with Villa about a January move.
"I confirm that there is interest and we talked with the English club, but it is not possible to talk about a deal at an advanced stage or with a closure imminent, it is not that tomorrow there will be signatures, we've made only the first steps," he told Calciomercato.it.
"Can they loan him? I think the initial idea is that of a permanent transfer, but if it does not unlock the situation, then Porto may also consider a loan."
