The agent of John Carew has floated the idea of a move to Japan for the Aston Villa striker.

Carew is being made available by Villa for the January market and has been linked with Sampdoria and Fiorentina in Italy.

But Per A Flod told calciomercato.com: "I am currently in Japan and must admit it is an attractive market for John."

Carew comes off contract at Villa in June.
