The agent of Manchester City midfielder Geovanni says a deal with Deportivo La Coruna is almost agreed.

Roberto Assuncao said: "We have agreed terms and we still have to negotiate.

"But before making the trip to La Coruna we have to sort the situation with Manchester City because the player is under contract until July 31, but there is clause that can permit him to be free agent right now, six months before its end.

"We have a meeting with Manchester City's directors on Monday and we have made a lot of progress but still have to wait until Monday."

Geovanni added: "La Coruna have a great history and great Brazilians played there and I am very happy with the possibility to be able to sign."
