The agent of Douglas Maicon says Inter Milan were right to resist the offers of Real Madrid.
Caliendo believes the firm stance to stick with Maicon will offer Inter plenty of collateral.
"Moratti refused a big offer from Real Madrid, and so I think this was Inter's best buy of the summer market," he told Inter TV.
"I don't think keeping Maicon was a surprise because the offer from Madrid was there and it was consistent, but Moratti had a fixed price on the player.
"It was a position which forced Madrid to withdraw. I would have done the same as Moratti."
