The agent of Sampdoria striker Eder says he deserves his Italy call.
The Brazilian-born forward's selection has created controversy.
"I think it's an unnecessary controversy," Eugenio Ascari told Tuttomercatoweb.
"Eder and Vazquez have been called, just as [Mauro] Camoranesi, a World Cup winner in 2006, [Dani] Osvaldo and [Jose] Altafini in the 70s were before them.
"Over the past decade the CT has cast his net everywhere, that's globalisation. Look at Germany for example, their squad is filled with player of foreign origin.
"In Italy we're having a controversy about two oriundo players: Eder has Venetian roots, as does Vazquez."
