The agent of Inter Milan goalkeeper Samir Handanovic says new contract talks are underway.

Despite pessimism coming from the club, Federico Pastorello says Handanovic could still stay with the Nerazzurri.

He is quoted by CalcioNews24.com: "The situation is what we read in the newspapers. And negotiations are underway, there are difficulties because, as happens in these cases there is a distance between offer and demand but I am optimistic because Inter want to keep him and the player wants to stay.

"Much will depend on the time of closure because I was informed that Inter would not want to start the new season with the goalkeeper out of contract."
