Acquafresca is on loan from Genoa, but he has struggled to settle scoring just one goal in seven games.
Paolo Fabbri told TMW: "They are all lies regarding Acquafresca in Florence. Corvino has not asked me again for him like he did in May last year when he wanted Acquafresca as a reserve.
"With all due respect to Fiorentina, who are a great club, if ever Acquafresca were to change teams it would not be for a place on the bench. Meanwhile, he is a Genoa player and we need to see what the club will decide in June: whether to keep him or sell him. There are many possibilities for a transfer, a loan or a part-ownership.
"Acquafresca wants to play as a regular unless he goes to a team like Real Madrid or Inter where there are many great champions and he takes his chances.
"He has been doing well in the last few games in Bergamo. He also played a good game against Roma and it seems to me that he has come back from injury in a positive frame of mind. I believe that he should stay with Atalanta in January, also because he cannot go anywhere else seeing that the player has made three transfers and federally he cannot be transferred to another team.
"He can only go back to Genoa if the two clubs decide to terminate the loan."
