The agent of Sunderland winger Emanuele Giaccherini admits he tried to push him towards Napoli.

Giaccherini signed for Sunderland last month from Juventus.

"I proposed Giaccherini to Napoli," Furio Valcareggi told Radio Kiss Kiss. "But [sporting director Riccardo] Bigon refused.

"All this dates back to before he signed for Juventus [from Siena].

"Emanuele decided to go to Juve, and everything changed."
