The agent of Adriano insists it was he, not Inter Milan, that put a media gag on the striker after his arrival in Sao Paulo last week.

Gilmar Rinaldi explained: "Adriano hasn't spoken to the media on my orders, not the club's. I didn't want him to speak until tomorrow (today), when we have a media conference organised and everything will be cleared up."

He added: "Adriano has asked Inter to freeze his wages until December. He won't be paid until he returns to the club."
