The agent of Chelsea midfielder Michael Ballack has hit back at Real Madrid sports chief Pedja Mijatovic over claims his fee thwarted his client's move to the Santiago Bernabeu.

Michael Becker rapped: "I have never spoken to Mr Mijatovic. It's inexplicable that he talks of supposed commissions as the only impediment for the transfer not to be carried out.

"It is true Real Madrid called me, but it was not Mr Mijatovic. I told them that Michael had a contract with Chelsea and recommended they speak with the London club as is the regulations for FIFA in contract matters.

"There were no negotiations with Real Madrid because Chelsea told them that Ballack was contracted and his desire was that he fulfilled it. These are the facts."
