The agent of Mario Gotze says the departing Borussia Dortmund midfielder would've chosen Manchester City if he was motivated by money.

Gotze will move to Bayern Munich at the end of the season.

"He is only motivated by athletic reasons. Mario is 20 years old and it should just be about football at that age. If it had been only for money, he would not have chosen Bayern and instead signed for Manchester City or any other English team," said Volker Struth.

"It is not difficult for us to pass up better offers. I do not think a move abroad was right for him. In addition, the Bundesliga is set to become the best league in the world again."
