Celtic are desperate to offload the £2million signing from Real Madrid, who has another year of his £35,000-per-week contract to run, but agent John Sivebaek thinks that will be difficult.

"There haven't been any approaches for him and, right now, I don't think Thomas is in a position to just choose a club," said Sivebaek. "He hasn't played a lot this season and that doesn't make things any easier for us.

"There were rumours in the press about Blackburn Rovers making an offer, but I certainly didn't speak with them.

"We will hold talks with Celtic because, for the moment, we do not know what the future is. But, as far I can see, at this stage the only option for him is to go back to Glasgow and try to get back into the team."
