The agent of Genoa goalkeeper Mattia Perin says he may stay with the Serie A club next season.

Perin was outstanding last season on-loan at Pescara.

"We took stock of the situation, he will begin preseason with Genoa and then we will see what happens," commented Matteo Roggi to TuttoMercatoWeb.com in reference to a meeting this week with Grifone officials.

"In front of him is Frey, but he will go there prepared to gamble. He could win the position because for me he has all the qualities and the right determination.

"The field will do his talking. He is convinced he can move ahead of Frey for the position, he is working well to become the starter.

"If it does not happen then he will learn from a player like Frey."
