Agent expects Genoa striker Milito to remain in Italy

The agent of Diego Milito says the Genoa striker intends to stay in Italy next season.

"So far any reports of Diego about to join one club or another are just rumours, albeit ones that have reached my ears," said Fernando Hidalgo.

"His price-tag has tripled compared to what [Genoa President Enrico] Preziosi paid for him last summer, which was £8m.

"We certainly won't force Genoa to part with Diego and in fact would gladly remain with the Grifone. It's up to the President to decide.

"We are also aware of the fact that Diego will turn 30 this year and so it's only right that certain offers from prestigious sides are taken into consideration. We'll see what happens."

Preziosi has suggested recently that he would be prepared to listen to a large bid for the Argentine striker.

"One thing is for certain," added the agent. "Next year Diego will continue to drive the Italian defences crazy, because he is very happy at Genoa.

"Even if Preziosi decided to sell him, he would listen exclusively to proposals from another Italian club."
